July 15^th — St. Vladimir the Great Day – Roman Catholic, Anglican, Eastern Orthodox, Lutheran

This is the feast day of St. Vladimir the Great. He was born about 958 and died on July 15,1015.Following his death, he almost immediately became a mythical figure in medieval Ukraine and Russia. The subject of numerous heroic ballads and legends, he was canonized in the mid-13th century for his efforts to Christianize these lands.

July 22 is the Feast Day of St. Mary Magdalene, honored by Catholic Christians. Miriam of Magdala was the first person to witness the resurrected Christ. She had been a devoted follower, having been freed from seven demons by Jesus. She was at the foot of the cross along with Jesus’ mother Mary and had returned to the tomb with the other women to anoint Jesus’ body. It was to the Magdalene that Christ first appeared, and she followed his instructions to return to his disciples and to tell them what she had seen, marking her as the first apostle. Declared a prostitute by Pope Gregory the Great at the end of the 6th century, that claim was officially reversed by the Vatican in 1969.

Emperor Haile Selassie’s Birthday —Rastafarian

Rastafarians take their name from Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia who was also known as Ras (Prince) Tafari. The faith, known as Rastafari, began in Jamaica in the 1920s and took its name when Haile Selassie was crowned emperor in 1930, although he was not a Rastafarian and was a devout Christian. Rastafarians believe that Haile Selassie was descended from King Solomon in the Bible and they believe that he is the incarnation of God. 

Pioneer Day — LDS/Mormon

Pioneer Day is an official holiday celebrated on July 24 in Utah, with some celebrations taking place in regions of surrounding states originally settled by Mormon pioneers. It commemorates the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on July24, 1847, where the Latter-Day Saints settled after being forced from Nauvoo, Illinois, and other locations in the eastern United States. 

July 25^th — St. James The Great Day — Roman Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran and certain Protestant Churches.

James the Great, also known as James, son of Zebedee or as Saint James the Greater, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus according to the New Testament. Saint James is the patron saint of Spain and, according to tradition, his remains are held in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia.  He was the brother of Saint John, the Apostle.
